Remember when we talked about Florals being a huge nursery trend for 2017? Another BIG trend this year is actually a ‘Woodlands’ Theme. You can see what I’m talking about here. You’ll find lots of cute animals and nature inspired vignettes in this theme and today I’m breaking down three looks that YOU can shop for at Nestled and Snuggle Bugz. Just click the links for details.
This bright and cheerful room is sure to have baby smiling. I love the subtle pops of turquoise that are great for your little girl or boy. By keeping things neutral you can really make this quite a relaxing space for yourself and your baby. This is a fun take on a woodland theme because it’s extremely subtle. The mobile has some cute woodland creatures, the lamp has a faux ‘wood’ base and the milestone blanket brings in a little more nature by portraying a mountain backdrop for your little one. The colours of this room are grey, white, turquoise and beige. You could use any of these colours on the walls or have some fun and paint one of the walls turquoise as a feature wall!
This is such a fun nursery. LOTS of colour here. I started this room with the mobile. I love the little creatures and the fun colours it provides. It’s always important to start with a base and then work your colour wheel from there. The GORGEOUS olive green glider is to die for (in my books). Green being another neutral that can play with the fun pops of colour we have going on in this space. From there, you’ll notice a lot of dark wood. It has a foresty feel doesn’t it? And because we’re not being shy with colour in this nursery I thought it would be fun to add a pop of orange on the floor as well. I’m absolutely loving this rug from Lorena Canals. It’s actually on the Nestled Showroom floor if you want to see it in person.
For look number three I wanted to take the ‘woodland’ theme to a whole new level. I added a whole lot of pink to make it as pretty as can be. The key here is to add pops of colour here and there and to not go crazy with pink everything! You’ll notice some pink in the quilted blanket, some subtle pink in that adorable woodland mobile AND of course, another Lorena Canals area rug that reminded me of a picnic under the stars (also pink). I chose to use a white crib and dresser and a beige glider. You could really replace these with natural wood pieces for a more rustic feel, dark wood for a more traditional look OR light grey for a transitional space. I love all of these options but it’s really more about what style you prefer. By now you already know that I love white based on my own nursery plans. For more on that click here.
Hope this post helped you decide on your own nursery decor. What is your favourite look from this post? Would love to hear from you in the comments below.
