Canada Post has officially announced that the Canadian Union of Postal Workers has gone on strike and is performing rotating strikes throughout Canada. While this means that mail and parcel service is still active, there are delays caused by the rotating strikes.
The strike is causing many questions from our customers;
Will my order still ship?
Will there be a delay?
Will I be charged more for shipping now?
Hopefully this blog will help you with some of these answers and let you know what Snuggle Bugz is doing to ensure we continue to delivery the great level of service you have come to expect.
During the strike period Snuggle Bugz will be shipping packages with either Fedex or Purolator. These companies offer a higher level of service, with faster delivery times and increased levels of tracking over Canada Post. There are increased costs using these carriers, but for the most part I’m happy to report that we will be absorbing these costs and not passing them on to our customers.
While the majority of our orders will be shipping with these carriers, unfortunately some orders cannot be shipped with a courier and for these we will be using Canada Post.
Some examples of orders that may not ship with couriers:
- PO Boxes – Couriers cannot ship to postal boxes, and therefore these orders will ship with Canada Post. Providing an alternative address may allow us to ship via carrier.
- Remote Areas – Unfortunately courier companies are not as great at delivering to some remote rural areas. They can deliver to these areas, but the delivery cost is substantially more than Canada Post. Due to the increased costs, we can not absorb all of the shipping costs and will be using Canada Post for some areas.
As always we are doing everything in our power to continue to delivery the level of customer service you have become accustomed too. If you have any questions, please contact our web customer service team at 877-768-4284 Option 1.
