Anyone that knows me knows that Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year. No, not because of the presents, but because of the time with family and friends. I love the excitement my little cousins have on Christmas Eve and I can’t wait to see the magic in my own daughters eyes. We also have a traditional Christmas breakfast every year that the entire family looks forward too. My count down literally starts on December 26th from the previous year and I try to make those two days last for as long as possible. For me, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day are the best days of the year. In fact, this year will be the most special of them all. First of all, Ryan and I are celebrating 15 years together, 5 years married and our first Christmas with Evie. It will be pretty special for all of our families.
When I was a child, every Christmas Eve we would write our letters to Santa, leave milk and cookies for him on the fireplace, put carrots outside for the reindeer and we would read ‘The Polar Express’. We’ve done this every single year for as long as I can remember. This time we get to share that tradition with our own little girl. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. The first of many Christmas traditions we’ll get to start with her.
First of all, we got to decorate our very first family tree. The best part about decorating (in my opinion) are all of the memorable ornaments you put on it. You can get this Babyprints ornament or this ball one to make your Christmas (and future trees) more memorable. I can’t wait to look back on our printed ornaments in 5 and 10 years from now and remember how small Evie’s little feet and hands were. We’ve been told she’ll be 16 in a flash. Maybe you’re looking to gift your baby prints to a family member? Ornaments work or a combo print and picture frame from Snuggle Bugz would be perfect gift under your tree.
You already know how much I love Christmas Eve and this year is going to be extra special. We’ve got the CUTEST little set for Evie and I can’t wait for her to use it. It’s the Santa Cookie’s Set from Pearhead. It comes with an adorable ‘cookies for Santa’ plate, a milk jug, candy cane straw and a notepad for the kiddos to write letters to the North Pole. I just love it so much! I know we’re going to be able to use it for years to come.
What are your Holiday family traditions? Is this a special year for you and your family? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
