Well, we’re officially one month into this parenting thing and we can’t complain. This little girl is the best thing that’s ever happened to us. I’ll admit, we were warned about the sleepless nights and yes… we’ve had a few. So if you’re a new parents like us… LISTEN UP! I’ve got an awesome product to tell you about that will help you get through those sleepless nights and might actually help prevent them all together.
Last week I went to a Slumber Party at Snuggle Bugz where Tanya Burmaster, Cheryl Hickey and Alanna McGinn talked about sleep routines for babies. If you missed it you can check out the video here. I was so inspired that I decided to start our own nighttime routine when I got home. They said that a bedtime regime helps your little one know when it was time for bed and that this would ultimately help them fall asleep a little easier. Cheryl Hickey came up with the idea for an amazing product when coping with her own children’s sleepless nights. It’s called Arm Here For You. It’s an incredibly soft blanket with a pillow that you can put your arm through to cuddle and hold baby. I was so impressed with it’s many uses:
- a nursing pillow
- a privacy cover
- a blanket for baby
- a blanket for a toddler
- a travel blanket or pillow (great on a plane)
- an arm cushion for mom
- and the list goes on and on…
But the best part (in my opinion) is that you can use the Arm Here For You in your bedtime routine and then your child, no matter where they sleep, or who puts them to bed, can use it too! Grandma, grandpa, an aunt or uncle can put it on and give them the same comfort and warmth that you would.
I’m sure you can understand why I was so excited to test it out for myself. When I first put it on it was super cozy. Personally, I find that I’m a bit cold when I’m feeding Evie at night. I’m usually either in a tank top or my nursing bra and it can get chilly. I love that Arm Here For You keeps you and baby warm. It’s also great in the day as a privacy cover so I don’t have to worry about breast feeding while guests are over. I secretly love that Evie has her own little pillow so she can fall asleep easily when she’s feeding in my arms. Makes it so much easier for me to place her in bed when she’s fast asleep.
Speaking of sleep, I forgot to mention that Cheryl actually held Evie for the majority of the ‘Slumber Party’ to show how Arm Here For You worked. Evie was so comfy that she slept through the entire thing (the perfect model for a ‘Slumber Party’ right?). We’re really happy with how it’s helped us so far and I’m so looking forward to using it as she gets older. I really hope you get to try it out for yourself.
